Summary

  • Memo discusses that a revised Directive #3, expected to be released the week of April 5th  will see a change to the provincial definition of COVID-19 outbreaks in Long-Term Care Home (LTCH) and Retirement Home (RH) settings re: a suspect outbreak and a confirmed outbreak.

Actions

  • A suspect outbreak in LTCH: one single lab-confirmed COVID-19 case in a resident. A confirmed outbreak in LTCH: two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in residents/staff/visitors in a home with an epidemiological link, within 14 days, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the home.
