Summary

  • Updated version of Directive #3 for Long-Term Care Homes Under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007. The updated directive takes effect on April 7, 2021 replacing all previous versions. Outlines required infection prevention and control (IPAC) precautions and procedures for staff, volunteers, visitors and residents in Ontario’s long-term care homes.

  • Notes change to definition of outbreak in LTCH: suspect: one single lab-confirmed COVID-19 case in a resident. Confirmed outbreak in LTCH: two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in residents/staff/visitors in a home with an epidemiological link, within 14 days, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the home.
