Summary

  • Guidance document for community-based Mental Health and Addictions service providers in residential settings for children, youth, and adults including: supportive housing, safe beds, residential withdrawal management, and residential treatment programs.
    MHA services have been identified as an essential service that can continue to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Actions

  • MHA Organizations should continue to provide residential services, to the best of their ability, to existing and new residents; customize and prioritize support and care within the residential setting, as necessary.
  • Permit only residents, staff, and essential visitors who are feeling well and do not have COVID-19 symptoms to enter the residence.
  • Implement pandemic and/or business continuity plans (see document for recommended steps).
